The hunger games is one of the best movies I have ever seen! It kept me interested from the begin to the end. The hunger games is a 2012 American science fiction- adventure movie. Directed by Gary Ross and based on Suzanne Collins 2008 novel with the same name.

In the destroyed North America a nation called Panem has risen. In this nation there is a rich Capitol and twelve poorer districts. As punishment for a rebellion in the past, each district must provide a boy and a girl between the ages of 12 and 18. These children or tributes are selected by lottery ( called The Reaping ) for the annually Hunger Games. In total 24 tributes must fight to the death in an arena and only one comes back! 

Gary Ross is an American movie director and a scenario writer. He is born in Los Angeles, California on 3 November, 1956. And he is 62 years old now. He got nominated for the Academy Award in 1988, 1993 and 2003. He directe the hunger games.

The most important character is Jennifer Lawrence she is an American actress. She is 28 years old and she is born on 15 August, 1990. And she is 1,75 m long. She plays Katniss Everdeen. Josh Hutcherson is an American actor. He is 26 years old and he is born on 12 October, 1992. He is 1,70 m long. He plays Peeta Mellark. He is the bakery’s son and he is in love with Katniss. Liam Hemsworth is an Australian actor. He is 29 years old and he is born on 13 January, 1990. He is 1,91 m long. He plays Gale Hawthorne. He is a hunter and he is also in love with Katniss. Willow Shields is an American actress. She is 18 years old and she is born on 1 July, 2000. She is 1,57 m long. She plays Primrose Everdeen. She is Katniss little sister. Elizabeth Banks is an American actress. She is 44 years old and she is born on 10 February, 1974. She is 1,65 m long. She plays Effie Trinket. She presented the lottery in district 12 and she is also a mentor for the trinbutes in district 12. Woody Harrelson is an American actor. He is 57 years old and he is born on 23 July, 1961. He plays Haymitch. He is the mentor of the tributes in district 12 and he won the hunger games ones. He is always drunk. Donald Sutherland is a Canadian actor. He is 83 years old and he is born on 17 July, 1935. He is 1,92 m long. He plays president Snow. He is the president of the capital and he is the boss of the hunger games. 

I really like this movie! I think I watched it around 10 times. Even though I know what’s going to happen, I still like to watch is. The first time I watched the hunger games, was when I was 11 years old. I thought it was so scary! Especially when Katniss was being hunted by Cato and his group. Even though I got night mares the first time I watched the movie, I still really liked it and wanted to watch it again. I liked it because it’s between science fiction and a thriller. 

A fun fact is that while shooting the movie they used real weapons and fake weapons. The fake weapons are from rubber.
