I chose this book because I really wanted to see the movie, but the movie wasn’t on Netflix and I also couldn’t find it online. So when I heard that we had to read a book for English class, I thought it was a good idea to read the maze runner. 

Thomas the main character, wakes up in a elevator. When the elevator stops and the doors are opened he sees a really big square surrounded by thick high walls, named The Glade. He can’t remember anything. The only thing he know is his name. On the glade live about 50 teenage boys between the ages 12 and 19 years old. Just like Thomas, the gladers don’t know why or how they got to the glade. All the know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the elevator. 

The author of the maze runner is the American writer James Dashner. He is born on November 27, 1972 in Austell, Georgia. He is 46 years old now. In 2012 he won an award for The Young Reader’s Choice Award, for his book the maze runner. 

The main character is Thomas. He is a 16 year old boy. He is the second to last person who arrived the Glade. He is a very good person and that is the reason that everyone trusts him. 

Theresa is the last person who arrived the Glade. She is the only girl there. She has a better memory then everyone else. Thomas and Teresa get a relationship together. 

Chuck is a 12 year old boy. He is the youngest in the Glade. He is a really innocent boy. 

Galy is a very mean boy who tries to distract Thomas. 

I didn’t really liked the maze runner. I really expected more. I thought it would be more scary. The book was really hard to read. There where a lot of words that I didn’t understand. That made it harder to read the book and to understand it. I think it might be harder to read because it’s science fiction, I tried to understand the words but there are a lot of words in the book that are made up. I did like the story though, I think it’s a good story but because it was to hard to read for me I didn’t really followed it. Even though I didn’t really liked the book, I still wanna see the movie.
